Our limited edition of blossom pure natural honey is produced by a small community of traditional Maya beekeepers living in the tropical dry forest of the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico.

This rich biodiversity of tropical flora, including wildflowers, avocado and cactus blossom, enables our apiculturists to produce some of the finest pure honey in the world, using ancient and ethical beekeeping traditions passed down the generations.

And now it can be delivered directly to your door.

Maya beekeepers have kept domesticated colonies for thousands of years. Over the centuries they have developed their knowledge about the nectar and pollen-producing flora of the region and the domesticated native melipona bees. This knowledge was the basis for the successful adoption of the western apis mellifera bees when the region came under European influence.

But thanks to deforestation the practice is under threat.  

So we set up the Nikté Project (nikté means flower in Maya) in order to conserve the tropical forests, an area of ecological importance; to protect the ancient beekeeping heritage of the Maya people in Yucatán; and to help support the apiculturists and their families.

We’re also committed to raising awareness about the variety of native plants in the Yucatán Peninsula, many of which are in danger of extinction, and their vital importance to beekeeping. And as part of the project, we carryout regular forest inventories to determine the origins and floristic prevalence in our honey.

It means you’ll always know which flora your honey comes from and which hives too.
